Summer Room Decor

Today's blogpost is all about how to decorate your room and some cute ideas and ways to decorate your room! I have always had an interest in interior design ever since I was little, so redecorating and rearranging my room is one of my favourite things to do. I post a lot of photos of parts of my room on my instagram account ( @kate.livyy )and when I asked what blogpost people wanted to see a lot of people said Room Decoration ideas. Here are some tips and ideas on how to make the perfect bedroom!

♡ My Room ♡

Previously my room was very dark and seemed small because the walls were full of posters.I realised that taking them down would make my room a lot more spacious and let a lot more light in. My room is very girly and I get a lot of my inspiration from other Instagram accounts or apps like We heart it or Tumblr.

♡ Wall decorations ♡ 

I really love this gorgeous picture holder! I got it for my birthday but I believe it came from Debenhams.I printed of lots of photo's that I had taken or that I had got from We Heart It like of some of my favourite quotes and people. I also added in some cute postcards I had collected and some of my polaroid pictures I had taken with my camera.

 In the corner of my room I have hung up some pastel paper balls which you can pretty much buy in lots of super markets and stationary stores. I bought another photo holder which I just have lots of cute pictures and postcards on it. Around my whole room I have hung up floral bunting, it looks really cute and vintage.

This is one of my favourite things in my room. It is a heart made out of photos ( if you haven't already noticed I love having lots of photos up on my wall ) which I ordered from Polagram. I have seen lots of other people doing this in there room and you could rearrange the photos into other shapes and easily order differernt photos when you want to change them.

♡ Shelve decoration ♡

In my room I have a group of 8 shelves from Ikea that I have decorated all differently. Here are some pictures of one of them and how I decorated it.

 

The boxes on the right are both from Cath Kidston and the three notebooks on top are from Cath Kidston as well. I store random bits and pieces in it and think it looks really cute.

Here's a cute D.I.Y that is really easy to do. All you have to do is buy a frame, mine is from Paperchase. Then print off a quote and put it in the frame. It is really simple but looks really pretty and you could even hang it up on a wall with some other frames and different quotes or pictures. 

These are a few of my favourite books from some of my favourite Youtubers and some other books. I think they look great on my shelve next to the boxes because they all have really cute covers. 

I mentioned all about this fawn on my previous blogpost. I love how it is vintage and fawns are one of my favourite animals ( bambi is one of my favourite films ).

♡ Making your room cozy ♡

 If you're like me, I tend spend a lot of time in my room so it needs to be cozy. Here are a few things you could add to your room to make it a little bit more comfortable.

Cushions are a must have on any bed because they make it look pretty and also comfy! These cushions are all very cute and some are really cheap. The cushion furthest to the left is from Primark, the Thumper cushion and the unicorn pug cushion are both from Tesco and the party ring cushion ( which is my favourite ) is from Sass & Belle.

Fairy lights make a room look very cute and cozy. These are battery powered lantern fairy lights from Amazon look amazing hanging down a wall.

Fairy lights also look good around a mirror and on your bed.
